Kate McPhail
Executive Director

Kate was first introduced to traveling abroad at a young age spending summers with her grandparents in Galicia, Spain. Her amazing memories of those summers led her to a semester abroad in Sevilla, Spain during her undergraduate studies and ultimately to a three-year stint serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in El Salvador. Kate hopes to provide the opportunity to experience similar inspirational adventures, living and studying abroad, to underrepresented students through her position as Executive Director of FEA.

Prior to joining FEA, Kate worked as Executive Director of United for D.C., the charitable arm of D.C. United, Washington, D.C.’s professional soccer team, as well as serving as a Management Analyst for the Department of Commerce. Kate received a BA from the University of Washington and an MA in International Affairs and Development from the Elliot School at the George Washington University.

Rebecca Kahn-Witman
Program Assistant

Rebecca’s love of travel and her appreciation of different languages and cultures has been a motivating force in her life. She has traveled around the world since she was young, having visited three different continents by the age of nine. A few of her favorite destinations are Israel, France, and the Czech Republic. Rebecca recently returned from her semester abroad, studying in Prague for five months learning about the Czech language and culture. She has translated her love for travel and cultures into her current work for The Fund for Education Abroad where she is the Program Assistant. Additionally, she enjoys working with FEA because it allows her to help others have the same opportunities to travel and experience the world.
